The Redmond Panthers sent three teams to two tournaments and were able to make significant gains in our progress toward the District and State tournaments.
RHS sent their first and third string to the Coach Classic at North Bend High School, recognized as the toughest early season tournament in the state of Oregon. The Panthers were led by runners-up Sean Soliz, SR and Ryan Haney, SO. Other Varsity placers were Chance Lindquist, FR, 5th, 119; Levi Brinkley, JR, 4th, 125; Nick Coles, SR, 4th, 140; Duel Christiansen, SR, 5th, 215. The squad placed 4th out of 30 teams.
Culver-The 2nd String went to another Varsity tournament at Culver High School where they competed against some of the top small schools in the state of Oregon. The very young Panther squad finished 5th out of 16 teams. This is a very respectable finish for a group of mostly freshman versus some of the best individuals in the state. Leading the Panther JV was Tyler George, 103 lbs freshman with a 3rd place performance.
35 Panther Wrestlers are preparing to compete against some of the top competition in two of the best early season tournaments in the state thiss weekend.
The first and third string are entered in the Coast Classic at North Bend High School, and the second string is set to take on some of the toughest 2a and 3a schools at the Culver Invitational.
